Academic All-State = the athlete has earned an A average by your school's standards. Freshman-Senior, he or she has earned the average.
All-State = the athlete qualifies for the state meet. He or she may be a relay alternate and not actually compete, but since his or her name is on the State roster, they qualify.

** Did you know that 14 high school athletes will compete in 5 events at Texas Relays? Six athletes will compete in 6 events!
* Margaret Thompson of Hockaday moves into the #3 Texas all-time spot in the 2K Steeple, and Lovejoy's Sara Morefield moves into a tie for 4th in the 2K Steeple: 7:03.28 and 7:03.68 respectively.
* The Woodlands runs a 7:45.21 4x800 at the Victor Lopez Classic, moving them from their current 4th position on the all-time TX list up to 3rd. Congratulations!
* Emma Sralla of Flower Mound Marcus wins the girl's discus with a 170-07 throw, 1 inch shy of trying her PR, which sits #4 on Texas' all-time list.
* Kelis Jules (2024; Frisco Lone Star) ran a 14.10 in the 100M hurdles in prelims, not only breaking the school record, but also qualifying for the finals at Texas Relays!
* Two of the top 3 finishers in the girl's 300h have re-written the all-time Texas record book: * Simone Ballard - #1 All-Time (Katy Mayde Cree; 40.68) and * Sidney Green - #3 All-Time (Allen; 40.82)

DeSoto Head Girl's Coach June Villers has been named the first & only Female Coach of the Year with THSCA. She will also be inducted into the National HS Hall of Fame as well as a nominee for the National Coach of the Year.
January 29, 2022 - Kailyn Head of Denton Ryan broke the meet record in the 60m hurdles on Saturday at the Oklahoma Indoor Meet #1 in Norman. She ran a 8.98 and broke the old record of 9.45. According to MileSplit, it is the the fastest time by a freshman in the State & 2nd fastest time in the Nation by a freshman. 15th fastest time in the State overall.

"Texas A&M track & field’s Tyra Gittens claimed the NCAA pentathlon National championship with a collegiate-record score of 4,764 points, Thursday evening at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
"While setting a collegiate record, the multi-athlete also set a facility record, Trinidad and Tobago national record and became the first female Aggie to win an individual indoor title since 2014 when Brea Garrett won the weight throw. Gittens’ score of 4,764 points is the most in the pentathlon by a female athlete from a Caribbean nation."
The oldest record on the board came down today! Meg Mayfield took with a 5’5” clearance, besting the previous mark of 5’4.5”, held by BH legend @VFlores34 for over 25 years!!!

Olivia Lueking of Clear Creek vaults 14-01 to win the Clear Lake Invitational. This mark is the second-best mark in Texas history and the #1 in-season mark. Desiree Freier's 14-07.25 was achieved in the post-season.
Brya Brewer from Cedar Hill HS sets new triple jump PR with a jump of 41’2.5”. She also jumped 19’1.25” in the long jump.
Candace Mongo of Denton Guyer sets a new long jump record w/ a jump of 18-4.75!!

For the second consecutive meet, Chengetayi (Du) Mapaya put on a show from the start. On his first jump (16.80m), the senior broke the meet and facility record at Texas Tech's Sports Performance Center.

Houston Baptist Senior Kaitlin Smith set a new program record in the pentathlon against a field consisting primarily of competitors from the Big 12, Pac-12 and the SEC as she placed third overall with 3,934 points and a new PR in the long jump.
"Robert Mason and Jacob White broke school records Friday as LeTourneau University men's track & field team opened the indoor season at Wichita State University's Shocker Invitational.
"Mason recorded a throw of 39-8 ½ in the shot put to finish third behind Oklahoma Baptist's Alexander Schovanec and Wichita State's Alex Schovanec won the event with a throw of 48-6 ¼. White ran a 52.03 in the 400 meters to finish fourth in an event four YellowJackets placed in the top eight. Wichita State's JD Prinsloo won the race with a time of 50.60 seconds.
"Jack Miller was first in the pole vault with a mark of 15-1 ¾. Wichita State's Nathan Vann also cleared 15-1 ¾. Miller's win in the event has him atop the NCAA Division III leaders early in the season."
"Texas A&M's Tyra Gittens won four of the five events in the pentathlon en route to setting a school record with 4,612 points, her score is the third best performer mark in collegiate history and set a Trinidad and Tobago national record.
"Gittens got the party started winning the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 8.33, it was the second consecutive week of clocking a personal best in the event. She followed with setting a school record in the high jump clearing 1.91m/6-3.25, an NCAA-leading clearance. The junior continued to claim victories in the shot put (12.94m/42-5.5) and long jump (6.58m/21-7.25), before finishing with the 800m at 2:30.86."
Texas Tech's Gabe Oladipo throws 73'-7.25" (22.43m) in the weight throw "to win the event and move himself up to the number-two spot in the NCAA this season."

"Tripp Piperi produced the highlight performer of the day, as he extended his NCAA lead with a personal-best 21.12m effort in the men's shot put. Piperi, the 2019 NCAA Outdoor national champion in the event, joined 2016 Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouser as the only Longhorns to hit the 21-meter mark indoors in the shot put.
"All-American sprinter Kynnedy Flannel clocked a 23.09 (200), the No. 2 mark in the NCAA and the world this season, en route to victory.
"All-American jumper/hurdler Tara Davis soared past the field en route to a victory in the women's long jump. Davis, the American junior world-record holder in the event, cleared an indoor collegiate-best 6.56m/21-6.25 to pick up her first win of the season. UT-Tyler: "Summer Grubbs, a 2020 All-Lone Star Conference first team performer, broke her own school record in the 400 meters, taking a full second and then some off her previous best with a new standard of 58.91 seconds. Newcomer Audrey O'Connor broke the school record in the shot put in her first competition as a Patriot, throwing 12.11 meters (39'-8 ¾") on Friday. Houston: [Taylor] Scaife continues to be a dominating presence for the Cougars in the field, earning her fourth first-place finish in the weight throw this season. The senior surpassed 22.00m (72-2.00) on three of her five attempts, with her best throw coming on her third toss as she earned a mark of 22.89m (75-01.25). Scaife reset the program record in the event after shattering it last season. The toss is the second-best toss among collegians this season and shatters the previous Carl Maddox Fieldhouse record. The senior closes out the regular season as one of 11 women to earn a mark of 22.00m or more this season in the NCAA.
UT-Tyler: School Records: Summer Grubbs scored a school-record 3,264 points in the pentathlon, claiming a runner-up finish after notching personal-bests in the high jump and shot put. Grubbs added an improved school-record in the open 60-meter hurdles, snagging a spot in Saturday's final with the record performance of 8.99. Corey Perryman also improved his school-record time in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.39 to propel him into Saturday's finals, and the Patriots' men's distance medley relay team produced another school-record time of 10:43.60.

Waxahachie Life freshman Charzell Williams blasts the school record in the 3200. She knocks off 56 seconds and posts an 11:50 in her first high school competition.
Baylor: KC Lightfoot won a duel of the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked pole vaulters in the NCAA in emphatic fashion, breaking his own school record yet again with a mark of 19-1 ½ (5.83m) at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center in Ames, Iowa.
Hardin-Simmons: Madison Hemenway broke the Cowgirl indoor record in the 5k running a 19:33.63. Tyler Rohrman improved his previous men's 5k record to 15:39.57.
Damonn Harrison also improved his 200m Cowboy track record, finishing in 21.51.
Houston: On the second day of action at the Clemson, yet another program record fell. [Antonio] Ruiz opened the day for the Cougars by besting the program record that he set only one week ago at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. The junior cleared 5.50m (18-00.50) on his first attempt, ultimately taking first-place in the event.
Houston Baptist: Senior Samara Hodges and sophomore Jessica Rabius set new program records in the mile and the high jump while the HBU track & field team made a strong showing at the UH Howie Ryan Invitational inside the Yeoman Fieldhouse on Friday.
Rabius earned the win in the mile with a time of 5:00.08 to improve on her own PR by more than seven seconds and best the previous school record by more than a second. That record was previously held by Jessica Whitt and set in 2013. Her time ranks her third in the Southland Conference this season.
Hodges, meanwhile, improved upon her own previous school high jump record by nearly three inches with a top cleared height of 1.75m/5-8.75, placing fourth. She now owns the third-best mark in the conference so far this year.
SFA: Sophomore Branson Ellis continued his sensational indoor season at the Toyota USATF Indoor Championship in New Mexico on Friday, shattering both the SFA and Southland Conference record with his clearance of 5.80m (19-0.25).
Tarleton State: Freshman Jenna Brazeal broke her second program record of the season. She surpassed the 800m record with a time of 2:18.4 and placed ninth in the event.
Texas A&M-Commerce: Dorian Andrews (Dallas - Skyline) was the top Division II finisher in the men's 60 meter hurdles with the third-best time in the nation at 7.89 second, automatically qualifying for nationals and re-setting his own school record.
Texas Tech: Takieddine Hedeilli seized an opportunity to break the school mile record at Washington's Husky Classic.
Sent up north in hopes of a nationals-worthy mile time, Hedeilli became the second Red Raider ever to run a sub-four minute mile indoors. The grad transfer ran 3:58.76 for the record, besting Tech legend Kennedy Kithuka by three-quarters of a second.

Hardin Simmons: Destani Warner set the Cowgirl indoor track 200m record with a 26.42 to start the day. Warner held the record for about a minute before her teammate Jessica Eastham broke that mark, running a 25.79 200m dash.
Eastham also finished the 400m in 1:00.45, another record for the Cowgirls. Freshman Lynda Farmer got her name in the Cowgirl books with the 600m record, running a 1:48.18.
Senior Cowboy Tyler Rohrman broke his record in the 3k from two weeks ago, finishing in 9:05.38. Malik Pratt set the 600m men's record with a 1:23.66.
Freshman Cowboy Damonn Harrison ran a ridiculous 21.98 200m dash to take hold of his first school record.
Teddy McIntyre set a record in the triple jump, breaking the one he already made this year for the Cowboys, with a 44-10 ¾ (13.68m).
Parnelle Shands set a record in the 60m for the Cowboys running a 7.04. He held that record for a couple of heats until Damonn Harrison ran a 6.95, eclipsing his teammate for the milestone.
Houston: For the fourth time this season Miles Marhofer broke the program record in the weight throw. The junior surpassed his previous collegiate-best with a throw of 21.40m (70-2.5) for first-place in the event. The mark is tied for the 10th-best among collegians this season.
Rice: [Lucas] Ribeiro, from Belmont, Mass., broke Tim Vala's 1980 school record in the shot put with a winning toss on Saturday of 17.57m (57-7.00), eclipsing Vala's mark (17.52m) by just 1.25 inches. Ribeiro took over the top shot put ranking in Conference USA with the throw and climbed into the top-70 in the NCAA.
[Tara] Simpson-Sullivan, from Penrith, England, broke Tina Robinson's eight-year old school record (18.07m) in the weight throw with a mark of 18.85m to finish third overall and claim the top spot in C-USA.
SMU: In the 400m Championship final, [Chika] Iwuamadi topped the program record she set her freshman season by running a time of 53.52. Iwuamadi's time topped the conference and sits as 16th best in the nation.
South Plains: Sophomore All-American Gladys Jemaiyo added to her legacy in Levelland in the women's 5000 meters, setting a new national record with a dazzling time of 16:38.42, breaking her own national record set a year ago in College Station when she ran a 16:51.52.
Texas A&M: Texas A&M track & field's Deborah Acquah stole the show on the second day of the Charlie Thomas Invitational, Saturday at Gilliam Indoor Stadium. The junior broke the Texas A&M triple jump school record by 10 inches, posting an incredible 45' 2 ¼" leap.
UTEP: Shakeem Smith has been a speedster this indoor season, breaking his own school record with a time of 7.89, and finishing fourth in the men's 60m hurdles. He broke his previous mark of 7.90 set a few weeks back at the Corky Classic.
Gabe Gilfillan adds to an incredible PV Day! The Corsicana senior claims the US #1 spot with a 17-5 jump at the FasTrak Athletix HS Indoor Championships, the 5th-highest vault by a Texan indoors in the last 20 years!

Angelo State: Trpimir Siroki set a new school record in the heptathlon at Texas Tech finishing with 5,596 points to finish day two of the Texas Tech Invite.
Baylor: Cole Hardan broke his own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 61-6.75 (18.76m)
KC Lightfoot cleared 19 feet for the second week in a row, and Alyssa Miller tied the school high jump record to highlight the final day for Baylor track & field at the Texas Tech Invitational & Multis Saturday at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock. Miller cleared 5-10.25 (1.79m) to tie Kirsten Stepcick's Baylor indoor high jump record of 5-10.25 (1.79m) set at the 1993 Southwest Conference Championship.
Houston: For the third time this season, Miles Marhofer rewrote the program record in the weight throw. The junior college transfer won the event with a mark of 21.18m (69-6.00).
Houston Baptist: Senior Jemira Thomlinson broke a six-year old record in the weight throw while Hudson Hall improved upon the program's pole vault record for the second time in a week at the Houston G5 and Super 22 Invitational inside the University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse on Friday.
Thomlinson broke the program record in the weight throw formerly set by Jade Penick in 2014 on her final throw of the event. The senior improved on the record by more than seven inches and improved upon her own PR by more than four feet with a distance of 17.73m/58-2.0 to place sixth.
For his second-consecutive meet, Hall set a new program record in the pole vault with a top clearance of 4.90m/16-0.75 and finished seventh in the event.
For the third time in three meets this season sophomore Christopher Welch improved upon his own program record in the triple jump while Kaitlin Smith set indoor PRs in all five events of the pentathlon and shattered the previous program record as the HBU track and field team wrapped up day two at the Houston G5 and Super 22 Invitational on Saturday.
Welch, a sophomore who came into the day eighth in the nation in the triple jump, improved upon that distance by more than two inches with a jump of 16.00m/52-6.0 in the invitational. That mark moves him up to seventh on the national performance list. Welch finished first among collegiate competitors.
Smith, meanwhile, soared past the previous HBU pentathlon record by more than 350 points with a total of 3,705 while placing second only to McNeese's Grace McKenzie who was competing unattached.
LeTourneau: Despite a tough variety of competition, freshman Jacob White and graduate student Arvin Hrushka combined for three new school records. White's first record-breaking performance came in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.39 seconds and a fifth-place finish. Later, White broke his own record, set at the Weilert Open, in the 200-meter run earning a fifth-place finish in 23.14 seconds.
In the field, Hrushka broke his own high jump record, set in 2019, with a mark of 1.85 meters (6 feet 0.83 inches) to take third place
Rice: Rice freshman distance runner Grace Forbes broke the Houston Invitational meet record, held by former Owl Lennie Waite to highlight day one at Yeoman Fieldhouse. Forbes won the mile with a time of 4:40.69, besting Waite's previous record of 4:47.41 set in 2012, and currently sits ninth in the NCAA rankings.
Tarleton State: Junior Kylee Ponder broke the program record in the 400m dash. Senior Anterius Brown hit an NCAA provisional mark in the 400m and with the 4x400 relay team, which included Mikel Stone, Brandon McKissick, and Alan Palmer.
Ponder placed fifth with a time 57.15 in the 400m dash. The previous school record, set by Jasmine Owens in 2016, was 57.56.
Texas A&M: [Deborah] Acquah's long-jump mark of 21' 7.25" (6.58m) added half an inch to her nation-leading mark and her own school indoor record set just over two weeks ago on January 17 at the Ted Nelson Invite.
A&M-Corpus: Timor Barrett broke two school records on the day. He hit a personal best in the 60m hurdles, running 8.09 to qualify 14th. In the semifinals, he broke the school record by running 7.99 to finish ninth, just missing the finals
Bjoern Adden finished fifth in the Heptathlon with 5,164 points, setting a new school record.
On Thursday, Adden broke the school record in the long jump.
R'Darious Edwards broke the school record in the triple jump, finishing 15th with a best mark of 14.94m (49-0.25).
Kwesi Henderson broke the school record in the 600m run, finishing 11th in 1:24.45.
Aaron Rosales broke his own school record in the weight throw, marking his third straight week of improvement on his mark.
UT-RGV: For the third week in a row, the women's shot put record went down, and for the second week in a row, it was sophomore Samariae Bonds rewriting the record book, coming up with a first place mark of 16.59 meters, which would have ranked 13thin the nation entering this weekend's action.
UTRGV also broke the men's distance medley relay record, as a team that included four South Texans, including three Rio Grande Valley natives, won the race with a time of 10:09.31. The team was made up of senior La Joya alum Ricardo Mendoza, sophomore Eagle Pass Winn alum Mariano Hernandez, sophomore Brownsville Veterans Memorial alum Max Carmona, and sophomore Edinburg North alum Tristan Pena.
Texas: Junior sprinter Micaiah Harris broke the men's 200-meter dash record that he set last weekend, running a 20.49 to extend his 2020 world-leading mark. Joining Harris in the record book was the women's distance medley relay team, which consisted of Alexandria Cruz, Serenity Douglas, Valery Tobias and Kathryn Gillespie. The Longhorn women ran the event in 11:04.31, shattering the previous UT record by more than six seconds.
Teskey Classic Pole Vault Competition - Results
West Texas A&M: Azamati had an impressive debut for the Buffs in the 60-meter dash where he broke the school record and punched his ticket to the indoor national championships. His time of 6.69 in the prelims is tied for the fastest in the nation this season and breaks Tommy Curry's record set back in 2015. He also finished fifth in the 200-meters running 21.91.
Dixon finished second in the weight throw where he broke his own school record. The sophomore best mark came on his second attempt with a throw of 56-7.5 (17.26m) where he became the first Buff in program history to throw over 17 meters in two different meets. He also finished 12th in the shot put with a mark of 46-8 (14.22m). Tyler Pickens finished fourth in the weight throw (50-3.25/15.32m) along with a ninth-place finish in the shot put (53-1.75/16.20m).
Swoopes had a banner day for the Lady Buffs as she broke the school and Lone Star Conference record in the shot put and registered another Top 10 mark in the weight throw. The junior finished third in a field full of Division I throwers with a mark of 52-6 (16.00m) on her sixth and final attempt of the competition.

Remy Guertel of Texas Express (Prosper) wins the TX Tech UA High School Invite Girl's PV with a 12-9 clearance (PR), tying Olivia Lueking for the state lead.
RESULTS: Joshua Indoor Pole Vault
Baylor: (Tuesdi) Tidwell shook up the Baylor record books as she took down Annie Rhodes' indoor school record that was set in College Station in 2017. The junior from Early, Texas, cleared 14-9 (4.50m) to cement her spot as the Bears' No. 1 all-time indoor pole vaulter ahead of Rhodes' mark of 14-7.25.
(KC) Lightfoot became the 11th men's pole vaulter in collegiate history to clear 19 feet indoors, jumping 19-0.25 (5.80m) to set the meet record, facility record and school record in addition to attaining the Olympic qualifying standard.
Houston Baptist: (Christopher) Welch, a sophomore who set a new program record in the triple jump last weekend, improved upon his own top mark with a top leap of 15.94m/52-3.75 to win the event. That mark is the eighth-best distance in the nation so far this season and is the top mark in the Southland Conference by more than a foot and a half.
(Hudson) Hall, meanwhile, twice improved on the program record in the pole vault and placed fourth in the event with a top clearance of 4.87m/15-11.75. That height is currently the sixth-best mark in the SLC.
UTRGV: Sophomore Samariae Bonds won the women's shot put with a mark of 15.98 meters, surpassing the program record by 0.37 meters, setting a new personal record by 0.67 meters, and beating the next closest competitor by 0.56 meters.
Senior Paul May broke his own program record in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.68 meters, 0.23 meters ahead of the previous record and 1.21 meters than the closest competitor.

Houston: In the men's weight throw, Miles Marhofer shattered the program record in the event for the second time this season. The junior posted a collegiate-best mark of 20.85m (68-5) for third-place in the event.
Incarnate Word: Freshman Richard Kuykendoll set a new program record in his 400-meter debut, crossing the finish line in 47.83 seconds.
UNT: North Texas track and field continued its record-breaking indoor season as Haley Walker threw for the top weight throw mark in the UNT record books, and Aneesa Scott set a new Mean Green time in the 400-meter dash Friday at the Red Raider Invitational inside the Sports Performance Center.
Walker grabbed fourth place at 18.14 meters while surpassing her own mark of 17.76 set last season, and Scott added another school record to her resume in 2020 with a 53.86 showing for third place to upset the 54.49 recorded by Ciara Smith in 2011.
TCU: Sophomore Tysen Townsend broke fellow teammate Kendahl Shue's pole vault record by clearing 12-11 3/4. Townsend finished 8th overall in the women's pole vault.
UTTyler: Summer Grubbs broke a pair of her own individual school records with improved performances, edging ahead of her previous best in the long jump with a mark of 5.56 meters (18-feet, 3-inches) and shattering her previous best in the 60-meter hurdles. Grubbs ran a 9.22 in the qualifying heat of the sprint hurdles, shattering her previous mark of 9.45 by 23-hundredths of a second, and her time of 9.25 in the semifinals was also two-tenths ahead of her previous career-best. She combined with Natasha Carcano, Shelby John, and Theresa Simmons to establish the program-record in the distance medley relay with a time of 13:26.98.
UTSA: (Maia) Campbell turned in the top women's shot put mark in UTSA history with a measurement of 15.06m (49-5), which surpassed the previous school standard of 15.01m (49-3) established by N'Dia Warren-Jacques in 2017.
Texas Tech: Ruth Usoro led the way in creating excitement, breaking the school record in her first time triple jumping as a Red Raider. She landed a jump of 44'-2.5" (13.47m) in her second attempt, then tacked on three-quarters of an inch in her final attempt with a final mark of 44'-3.25" (13.49m) to secure the school record.
Gabe Oladipo, who last week came just three inches from Kole Weldon's 2015 record, smashed it this time around by over two feet. The Texas A&M transfer's toss landed at 69'-10.75" (21.30m), plenty far to best Weldon's 67'-6.25" (20.58m).
UT: Junior sprinter Micaiah Harris produced the men's record-breaking highlight of the day out in Albuquerque, running the 200-meter dash in a school-record and NCAA-leading 20.53.
It was senior distance runner Kathryn Gillespie who produced the Longhorns' record-breaking mark on the women's side, shattering the school's indoor mile record by more than five seconds (4:34.64) in Boston. Gillespie's school record is also the best mark by a collegian in the event this season.
Sophomore sprinter Julien Alfred, competing in the 60-meter dash Saturday, posted the third record-breaking mark. She ran away from the field in the preliminary round, posting a 7.13 to claim the top qualifying spot. Alfred then topped her performance in the final, finishing in a school-record 7.10, which is the NCAA-leading mark and No. 2 in the world this season.
Up in Boston, freshman distance runner Crayton Carrozza left his first mark in the Texas record book, as he completed the men's mile in 3:59.82 to become the fifth-fastest Longhorn in the event. He is only the sixth runner in program history to finish the mile in under four minutes.

Don Isett, age 80, clears 9-01 at the Reno PV Summit for an age-group world record
Baylor: KC Lightfoot cleared a national-best and school record mark of 18-8.25 (5.70) to win the men's pole vault and earn Field Athlete of the Meet to highlight Baylor track & field's final day at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational Saturday on the campus of the University of Iowa.
HBU: For the second year in a row, [Christopher] Welch opened the season with a new school record in the triple jump but this year he one-upped himself by also breaking the meet record with a leap of 15.64m/51-3.75. That jump broke his own previous program record by more than half a foot.
UTEP: Shakeem Smith broke a 20-year old UTEP indoor track and field record, clocking in a personal-best 7.90 in the men's 60m hurdles and finishing third in the final. The senior broke Lee Mays's mark of 7.91.
HSU: Tyler Rohrman finished second overall in the men's 3000m with a new Cowboy indoor track record time of 9:16.99.
UNT: Aneesa Scott, Bailey Ashmore and Joseph Squire of North Texas track and field each established Mean Green school records at the Ted Nelson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M Friday as the women finished second overall and the men third.
Scott's time of 23.64 in the 200-meter dash also set a meet record and captured first place. Ashmore's mark of 3.88 meters in pole vault gave her runner-up honors, and Squire improved upon his school record in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 7.97 seconds to secure second place.
A&M: [Deborah] Acquah's mark of 21'6.75" (6.57m) set the Texas A&M record by going four inches further than the previous record set back in 1998 by Adrien Sawyer (21' 2.75").
UT-RGV: Sophomore Alexandrea Hurst shattered the program and meet records in the shot put with a mark of 15.61 meters. Freshman Ackeem Gordon had a big collegiate debut, breaking the program record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.94 seconds in the preliminaries.
